Does McGonigle Dental Accept Delta Dental Insurance?
Short answer: yes. Useful answer: we are in network with Delta Dental Premier, and Delta Dental runs more than one network, so here is how to tell which one you have.

The Short Answer
Yes, and the Detail That Matters Is Which Delta Plan You Have
McGonigle Dental Associates is in network with Delta Dental Premier, and the practice accepts all PPO dental insurances. For a Premier member, that is a straightforward yes.
The reason this page exists rather than a one word answer is that Delta Dental is not a single network. It runs Premier, PPO and DeltaCare USA, and a dentist can participate in one without participating in the others. So “do you take Delta Dental” is a question that cannot be answered accurately from the carrier name alone, at this practice or any other. Check your card for the product name, then call 708-429-2111 and we will verify your specific plan before you sit down.
Read Your Card
Delta Dental Runs Three Different Products
Most people know their carrier and not their network, which is completely reasonable and also the source of nearly every surprise at a dental front desk. Your card normally names the product. That name, not the words Delta Dental, is what sets your benefit level.
Delta Dental Premier
The larger, longer established network. This is the one we are in network with, so if your card says Premier you are covered by the direct answer above.
Delta Dental PPO
A narrower network. Plans built on it usually pay their best level of benefit at a PPO participating dentist. If your card says PPO, call us and we will check your plan rather than assume.
DeltaCare USA
A managed care product rather than a PPO. It generally assigns you to a specific contracted dentist, so check the assignment on your card before booking anywhere.
You can look your own plan up through Delta Dental of Illinois, or simply bring the card and let us do it. The front desk does this dozens of times a week and would rather check it for you than have you guess.
The Full List
Plans We Are In Network With
This is the practice’s published in network list. Beyond it, we accept all PPO dental insurances and will bill them for you.
Employers customise their plans, so two people holding cards from the same carrier can have genuinely different coverage. That is why every version of this answer ends in the same place: bring the card, or call ahead. The current list also lives on our financial options page.
Two Different Sentences
“We Accept Your Insurance” Against “We Are In Network”
These get used interchangeably across dental websites and they do not mean the same thing. Knowing the difference is the single most useful thing on this page, and it applies to every practice you call, not just this one.
Before You Come In
Verifying Your Plan Takes One Phone Call
Do this a few days ahead rather than on the morning of the appointment, and there are no surprises at the desk.
Find the Product Name
Look at your card for Premier, PPO or DeltaCare, along with the group and member numbers. That is everything we need.
Call 708-429-2111
Read us those details. We check your actual plan against our participation rather than answering from the carrier name.
Book and Fill Forms Early
Complete the patient forms online beforehand so the first visit starts on time.
If it turns out you have no dental coverage at all, that is a normal situation and not an awkward conversation. Ask about the in house membership plan, which the practice runs itself for uninsured patients.
Where We Are
17519 80th Avenue, Tinley Park
We see patients from Tinley Park, Orland Park, Mokena, Frankfort, Homer Glen and Oak Forest. Spanish and Polish are spoken at the front desk, which matters most in exactly this kind of conversation.

What Patients Say
Trusted Across the Southwest Suburbs
“They checked the plan before I came in and told me exactly where I stood. No guessing at the desk afterwards.”

Common Questions
Insurance Questions the Front Desk Gets
Answered the way we would answer them on the phone.
Does McGonigle Dental accept Delta Dental insurance?
Yes. McGonigle Dental Associates is in network with Delta Dental Premier, and the practice accepts all PPO dental insurances. The one thing worth knowing is that Delta Dental runs more than one network, so the answer is most precise for Premier members. If your plan is Delta Dental PPO or DeltaCare USA, call the office at 708-429-2111 before your appointment and we will verify your specific plan rather than guessing from the carrier name.
What is the difference between Delta Dental Premier and Delta Dental PPO?
They are two separate networks run by the same carrier, and a dentist can participate in one without the other. Premier is the larger, longer established network. PPO is the narrower network, and plans built on it usually pay their best level of benefit when you see a PPO participating dentist. DeltaCare USA is different again, a managed care product that assigns you to a specific dentist. Your card will normally name which product you have, and that name is what determines your benefit level, not the words Delta Dental on their own.
Which other insurance plans is the practice in network with?
The published in network list is Aetna Extend, Allied, Assurant, Beam, Cigna PPO Plus, Delta Dental Premier, UMR, United Concordia and United Healthcare, with the last two applying where the plan uses the DBP fee schedule. Beyond that list, the practice accepts all PPO dental insurances. Because employers customise plans, the only reliable check is a call before the appointment.
What is the difference between accepting my insurance and being in network?
Accepting your insurance means the office will bill your carrier and work with your plan. Being in network means the practice has an agreement with that carrier setting the fees for covered treatment, which is what usually produces the lower out of pocket amount. Both are useful, they are not the same thing, and it is a fair question to ask any dental office directly. We will tell you which one applies to your plan when you call.
What if I do not have dental insurance at all?
Ask about the in house membership plan, which exists for exactly this situation and is not insurance but a plan run by the practice itself. Details are on the membership plan page, and the front desk will walk you through what it covers before you commit to anything.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your insurance card, a photo ID, a list of any medications you take, and the name of your previous dentist if you would like records requested. Filling in the patient forms online before you arrive turns the paperwork into about two minutes at the desk. If you want your benefits checked in advance, call a few days ahead rather than on the morning of the visit.
